Ishin brings familiar and new characters to 1860s Kyo, a fictional version of Kyoto that explores the end of the samurai era. Yakuza protagonist Kazuma Kiryu takes on the role of Sakamoto Ryoma, a man skilled with swords, guns, and summoning a tiger to attack enemies (although the actual historical figure Kiryu plays in this game may not have been well versed in the last part) . As with other games in the franchise, Like a Dragon: Ishin will also feature minigames and Heat Actions for combat. Like a Dragon: Ishin is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC worldwide in February 2023. RGG Studios has its own event, RGG Summit 2022, scheduled for September 14 at 3 p.m. PT / 19:00 JST, placing it just before Tokyo Game Show 2022.
