And the baker leaving the scene is Will!

Scott Brian Poor Will. Clearly, the nerves of being on the famous stage got the better of him. It just takes a few bad challenges. But I bet the Rebs are counting their lucky stars that they’ll get another chance to prove themselves (it’s not bread week next week – that word usage is random.)

This week’s Star Baker is… Janusz!

Scott Brian He would always be Janusz. Not only was his roast good, but he also tried to get Prue drunk at every opportunity. I also like to think he won this week because he has a sausage dog named Nigel. Scott Brian Janusz’s baking cannot be faulted and is considered by Matt to be a ‘work of art’. The Great British Bake Off S6 Ep1Janusz’s TX1 show topperScott Bryan I’d say Will is the most likely to leave the scene now, as every level of his grilling is over the top. The Rebs may have had a lucky save here. I bet readers of this Guardian liveblog would beg to differ! I think it’s finished next week. The Great Brits Roast S6 Ep1Maxy’s TX1 ShowstopperScott Bryan James’s house is quintessentially Scottish. It’s also very “whacky” according to Paul, a word of Scottish origin, so I reckon it’s job done. But is it enough to get her through to next week? The Great British Bake Off S6 Ep1Rebs showstopper Photo: Mark Bourdillon/Love Productions

It’s the Showstopper Challenge I’m judging!

Scott Brian I have to say there are some great bakers this year. Maxy, Syabira, Sandro, Abdul and of course Carole stand out as my special favourites. Scott Brian It’s a 90 minute special tonight, which is fine, but I think the number of commercial breaks. The Great British Commercial Break. With some Bake Off clips. Scott Brian And in stuff you only see on Bake Off, we had our first phallus of the series! “It’s not what you think it is. It’s a coconut tree!’ Syabira laughs. Scott Brian I admire Rebs for simply taking out the part of her cake that isn’t right and replacing it with another. The “fuck it” approach. Scott Brian Use kitchen spray full of vodka! That would do the trick. I would do the nurses house I lived in as a student nurse. I would soak it in rubbing alcohol which would make it perfectly accurate. Scott Brian Rebs: “It’s essential to get the sponge right today.” Rebs sponge not quite right today Her baking seems to have finished in the middle. I hate to say it, but if he can’t get it back, I think he’s going to walk off the stage. Scott Brian Ok who had this on the strange ingredient bingo card? Soy sauce on a cake? What the hell is this?? Scott Brian Abdul forgot to turn on his oven and has been on the fan setting for the past 45 minutes! Abdul! Supposedly you forgot to turn on the oven during the first Signature! This is tradition! Scott Brian God, Carole is just perfect. “NICE BIG WOODS,” he simply shouted. It follows: “This is coffee and walnut. Who doesn’t like coffee and nuts?” A pause. “Unless you don’t like coffee and are allergic to nuts.”
