The situation centered around Houston ISD’s Heights High School located at 413 E. 13th Street on Tuesday afternoon, according to Harris County Pct. 1. In a statement in Tuesday’s commissioner’s court, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo said two students got into a fight and there was never a threat of an active shooter. The Houston Police Department also tweeted that its officers responded to the reported shooting. The department described the incident as “unconfirmed.” A tent area for parents has been set up at the corner of 306 E. 15th Street and Columbia Street. It was unclear if anyone had been taken into custody. “The Houston Police Department and @HISDPolice continue to investigate the threat, although no evidence has been found to substantiate the threat,” the district said in a tweet.
