The sequel to Breath of the Wild is called The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and It’s Out on May 12, 2023
Along with another brief look at gameplay, we finally have a release date and a name for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel. Yes, on May 12, 2023, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on Nintendo Switch. The trailer featured footage of Link exploring Hyrule – both on land and in the sky – and gave us a look at a new stasis power and the broken world that Hyrule seems to have become. It also featured a bunch of parachutes, Link riding a stone bird, and more.
Pikmin 4 will finally arrive in 2023
While we didn’t learn much about it, Shigeru Miyamoto stopped by the Nintendo Direct to announce that Pikmin 4 will finally be coming to Switch in 2023. This news has been a long time coming as Miyamoto previously stated that the game was ” very close to completion’ in 2015.
Fire Emblem Engage has been announced as a new mainline game and features Marth
Fire Emblem Engage is the next main entry in the Fire Emblem series and will follow a story set a thousand years after four kingdoms sealed away the great evil known as the Fall Dragon. In Engage, players will become a Divine Dragon named Alear and must work to collect Emblem Rings to “bring peace back to the continent of Elyos.” During your journey, you’ll even be able to have other previous Fire Emblem characters join your party, such as Marth and Celica. Fire Emblem Engage will be released on Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023.
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe brings a Wii Classic to the Switch
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land was first released on the Wii in 2011, and in 2023 we’ll see it on the Switch in a brand new pink, bouncy package. This updated title features up to four player multiplayer and a collection of mini-games such as Samurai Kirby and Magolor’s Tome Trackers. Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe will be released on February 24, 2023.
Octopath Traveler 2 was announced with new heroes and the same gorgeous 2D-HD art style

Final Fantasy Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line Is a Celebration of the Franchise’s Music, and It’s Out Early Next Year
Final Fantasy Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line is the ultimate celebration of the franchise’s music and is a brand new entry in the series that started on 3DS. This new game will feature 385 songs and will allow two players to play locally and up to four players online. It will also have a season pass that will add 90 new songs, including some from Nier, Octopath Traveler and Live a Live. Final Fantasy Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line will be released on Nintendo Switch on February 16, 2023.
