A disturbing and unusual piece of advice from the RNC last night. Police issued a warning around 10 p.m. after responding to two “random attacks” in the St. John’s area, one resulting in serious injury. The first happened just before 8pm in the Beaumont Street area west of the city centre. The RNC believes the suspects knocked on the door of a residence and then forced their way inside. They took the homeowner’s vehicle, a gray 2012 Honda Civic license plate number JPB 113. The man in the home was rushed to Health Sciences with serious injuries. About 20 minutes after this incident, people forced their way into a house in Maunder’s Lane in the east end and attacked the residents inside. The residents of the house were also taken to the hospital with injuries. Police say the suspects are carrying a gun, so if you see the suspect vehicle, do not approach but call RNC 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
