Police in Kelowna are trying to identify two women in connection with a downtown stabbing last month. RCMP swarmed the downtown core on August 18 at approximately 9:30 p.m. after an injured woman with a bleeding hand was found by passers-by. The woman was intoxicated and unable to explain her injuries, so she was taken to hospital and treated. Officers determined that the injured woman had been involved in an altercation earlier in the night with two other women, possibly known to the victim. A man was also present with the two women involved. Police are now releasing surveillance footage of two women involved. “Kelowna RCMP would like the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals involved in understanding what happened on the night of August 18th,” said Const. Microphone. Della-Paolera with the Kelowna RCMP. Police previously said they believed the fight took place at the corner of Mill Street and Bernard Avenue. Anyone with information is asked to call the RCMP non-emergency line at (250)762-3300 quoting RCMP Kelowna file 2022-52127 or contact Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
