In the Scottish capital, Charles and Camilla were due to meet at Hollyroodhouse Palace where Queen Elizabeth’s coffin lay overnight. It arrived after a six-hour hearse journey from the Queen’s favorite summer retreat at Balmoral Castle, where the 96-year-old sovereign died on Thursday. The royal couple are due to attend a memorial service for the Queen, visit the Scottish Parliament and meet senior officials. It comes as part of the new monarch’s first tour of all four nations of the UK as king. Queen Elizabeth’s funeral is scheduled for September 19. On Monday afternoon, members of the royal family, including the king, will hold a vigil by the coffin at St Giles’ Cathedral. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
