The coffin arrived at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh after a six-hour journey from Balmoral on Sunday. After 13:00 – Ceremony of the Keys

The King and Queen Consort will be officially welcomed to Scotland by the Lord Provost at Holyroodhouse where the King will symbolically receive the keys to the city of Edinburgh at the Ceremony of the Keys.

14.35 – Start of hearses

Queen Elizabeth’s coffin will be carried from Holyroodhouse down the Royal Mile to St Giles’ Cathedral. The coffin will be carried in a hearse, flanked by a bearer of the Royal Regiment of Scotland and a detachment of the Royal Archers, who act as the King’s bodyguard in Scotland.
