Apple is releasing iOS 16 today, September 12. Once updated iOS 16 is going to change the way you used your iPhone. 16 will bring new personalization features, seamless ways to communicate and more, improving the user experience. “iOS 16 empowers iPhone with all-new personalization capabilities, deeper intelligence, and more seamless ways to communicate and share. Available September 12,” Apple said. From the lock screen to notifications to messages, the iOS 16 update will bring a lot of new additions. Here are the top features that iOS 16 brings.
The top 5 features of iOS 16
- Lock screen: You will get new ways to personalize your lock screen. You’ll be able to view your favorite photos, customize font styles, and display a set of widgets to get information at a glance. You’ll also be able to change your lock screen during the day, just touch and hold it and then swipe. You’ll be able to create different lock screens, each with a unique background and style, and easily switch between them.
- Notifications: You will be able to view notifications on lock screen in expanded list view, stack view or hidden view. And notifications appear at the bottom of the screen so they don’t show up. Also, using bold text and images will make notifications stand out visually. Notifications, including your notification summary, will now appear from the bottom of the lock screen, making it easy to see them at a glance as they appear.
- Focus: A new improved focus setting lets you choose which apps and people you want to receive notifications from by either allowing or muting them. Attach the lock screen to your focus so that the look and feel of your iPhone matches the way you want to use it at the moment. With one swipe, you can switch from Personal Focus to Work Focus with widgets that display upcoming meetings and to-do lists.
- Passkeys: Passkeys replace passwords with an easier and more secure login method. Passwords never leave your device and are specific to the website you created them for, making them nearly impossible to phish. You’ll be able to sign in to websites or apps on other devices, including non-Apple devices, with your saved password by scanning the QR code with your iPhone or iPad and using Face ID or Touch ID to authenticate. Also, Passkeys are end-to-end encrypted and sync across your Apple devices via iCloud Keychain.
- Messages: You can now edit a message you just sent or unsend a recent message altogether. And you can mark a message as unread if you can’t reply right now and want to come back to it later. You can edit a message for up to 15 minutes after sending it. Unsend any message for up to 2 minutes after it is sent. To know more about iOS 16 features, you can click here-
