It happened around 8:51 p.m. near the 5300 block of Horrocks Street. According to police, the 17-year-old female victim was walking with another teenager and a small dog at a convenience store near Bridge and Large streets when they noticed men inside a gray Dodge Challenger. At one point, the teenagers made eye contact with the people in the vehicle, but no words were exchanged, police said. The girls were then followed to the 5300 block of Horrocks Street. At one point, a suspect inside the car fired six shots, hitting the 17-year-old multiple times, Philadelphia Police Superintendent DF Pace said. The teenager was rushed to Temple University Hospital where she later died. It is not yet clear if the other teenager was injured. Police are trying to determine if the teenagers knew the suspects.
