A two-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car reversing down a suburban road – with witnesses claiming the boy’s mother was driving the vehicle. Police were called to a property in Point Cook, in Melbourne’s south-west, about 3pm on Saturday after the toddler was hit. “Unfortunately, the child died at the scene,” police said in a statement. A toddler has been hit and killed, reportedly by his mother, in the driveway of a Point Cook home (above) in Melbourne’s south-west The Altona Highway Patrol is investigating the child’s death. A witness at the scene claimed it was the toddler’s mother who “accidentally” fell on top of the boy. “I watched (the mother) and that hit me harder, seeing her pain really get to me,” they told Daily Mail Australia. “I can’t stop thinking about it, she was hysterical. “The police had to pull her off the road when she was trying to revive him.” Police said they do not expect any charges to be filed in the crash.
