Heading into this season, most prognosticators believed that Cincinnati would solidify its position atop the AFC North and that Pittsburgh was at the beginning of a rebuilding effort. The Steelers defense had other ideas. In an impressive effort today in Cincinnati, the Steelers defense did a number on Joe Burrow, intercepting him four times and recovering a Burrow fumble once in a 23-20 overtime victory. But how many turnovers did this game take to get to the 23-20 final? The final minutes of the fourth quarter, and all of overtime, was a crazy back-and-forth battle in which both teams thought they had the game in hand, only for freak special teams mistakes to keep the game alive. It wasn’t until the final seconds of overtime that Steelers kicker Chris Boswell nailed the game-winner. Late in the game, Steelers star TJ Watt was carted off the field after apparently suffering a serious chest injury. This could be ominous for the Steelers. But for now, the Steelers are off to a 1-0 start to the season and the Bengals are off to an 0-1 start.
