As flags return to half-mast across the UK on Monday following his proclamation, King Charles III will join a procession from Holyroodhouse to a service in St Giles at 3pm.
Guns will be fired as the procession winds its way down Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. The final round will be fired as the hearse stops outside the cathedral.
Members of the public will be able to pass through the monarch’s catafalque, the frame around the coffin, at around 5pm on Monday.

The coffin will be guarded by Vigils from The Royal Company of Archers with the Scottish Crown placed on top.
It will remain there for around 24 hours before being transferred from Edinburgh Airport to RAF Northolt, accompanied by Princess Anne before arriving in the Bow Room of Buckingham Palace.
With unsettled weather expected, the Scottish Government is asking people to come prepared for hours of standing if they want to join the queues.
There will be security checks at St Giles and no photography or recording is allowed inside.
The Scottish Government will give more details on the morning of Monday 12 September about how members of the public can attend.
The Queen’s stay at Westminster Hall in London begins on Wednesday 14 September for four days until the morning of her funeral on Monday 19 September.
