Media Officer Const Alex Lee said around 11am today police received a call for a welfare check at an address in the area of Glendora Avenue and Burnwell Street, which is near Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue East. There, officers found two people dead inside a residence, he told CP24. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Lee said it is too early in the investigation to know the cause or motive of this incident. “The evidence indicates that this is an isolated incident (at that residence) with no outstanding suspects,” he said, adding at this time “there are no threats to nearby residents.” The names and ages of the victims are not being released as police are still working to notify next of kin. Lee also would not confirm whether this incident is domestic in nature. The Toronto Police Homicide Squad is handling this investigation. Medical examiners were also present at the scene to assist in the search inside the residence. “Our investigators are appealing to any member of the public who has any knowledge of these two individuals to contact the police,” he said.
