Suffolk Police said the 44-year-old woman and 12-year-old girl were found at a home in the village of Great Waldingfield on Thursday morning after police received reports of concerns for the safety of the occupants. A 46-year-old man was also found with serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He was arrested and remains in hospital where his condition was described Friday as critical but stable. An autopsy Friday determined the woman’s cause of death was pressure on the neck. An autopsy is expected to be performed on the girl next week. The force said the three people were known to each other and described the incident as “limited”, with no wider threat to the community. Suffolk Police said they referred the matter to the Independent Office for Police Conduct because there had been “previous, but not recent” contact between the victim and the force. The official identity of the mother and daughter of the deceased is yet to be made. A gas leak had been reported at the property, prompting the evacuation of neighboring homes, but the area was later made safe. Constable Suffolk said: “Detectives are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the major investigation team, either using the online portal or by calling 101 and quoting reference 57943/22. “Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their online form.”
