GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING MEMPHIS, Tenn. – EXCLUSIVE: Ezekiel Kelly appeared before a judge Friday morning after allegedly opening fire in a series of deadly shootings in and around Memphis, parts of which were captured on video obtained exclusively by Fox News Digital. Appearing in a Shelby County court wearing a dark blue jail jumpsuit and a face mask, a pale, serious Kelly spoke briefly to tell Judge Karen Massey that she understood she needed an attorney and had no questions. He is represented by public defender Jennifer Case, the same attorney who is defending Eliza Fletcher’s alleged killer Cleotha Henderson. During the court appearance, Massey acknowledged that the death penalty is possible. Case asked for a gag order to be implemented, and the attorney set a hearing on the motion for Sept. 13. Kelly did not enter a plea and no bond was set during the hearing. District Attorney Steve Mulroy said additional charges against the defendant are likely. WHO IS EZEKIEL KELLY? She served 11 months of a 3-year sentence and was released in March, authorities said. He is now accused of killing four and injuring three on Wednesday, in addition to a pair of armed car robberies. (Matt Simons for Fox News Digital) Rescuers found the first victim, Dewayne Tunstall, dead outside a home on Lyndale Avenue just after 1pm Wednesday. Three unidentified witnesses who were in the home at the time told police that Kelly asked Tunstall to speak privately and then, after a brief conversation, allegedly opened fire. (Matt Simons for Fox News Digital) MEMPHIS SHOOTING: DUDE ACCUSED OF MURDERING 4, INJURING 3 IN RAMBAGE LIVE ON FACEBOOK Nearly four hours later, Kelly reportedly went on a shooting spree in and around Memphis, prompting police to urge residents to evacuate. A bedridden elderly woman also lives in the house next door, just a few meters away from the shooting. The family inside could hear gunshots and then screams after Tunstall was killed, according to the local resident, who spoke to Fox News Digital on the condition of anonymity out of concern for his safety. Hours later, the teenager reportedly went on a rampage — setting off a chaotic shooting spree that prompted Memphis police to ask residents to evacuate indoors. The bloodshed began with an apparently random shooting at the AutoZone store that left Rodolfo Berger critically injured around 5:45 p.m. CT. Kelly reportedly live-streamed the attack on Facebook – but the social media giant quickly removed the video and later closed her entire account. A few moments earlier, children could be seen playing in the corner of the parking lot. The muzzle flashes were captured on surveillance video from a business across the street. Another video shows the children running back and forth in the parking lot before the gunman gets into a black car, slides through the front door of the auto parts store and opens fire. Within seconds, he’s back in the car and speeding away, heading south on Jackson Avenue. After he shot it away from the scene, bystanders can be seen rushing to the store to help the victim. ELIZA FLETCHER AND MEMPHIS TARGET KIDNAPPING HIGHLIGHTS VIOLENT CRIME IN CITY The rampage continued for hours, ending around 9pm after Kelly allegedly crashed a stolen car at the intersection of Ivan and Hodge streets.
